Halliday
Campbell
Signet Accredited Specialist commercial litigation solicitors in Edinburgh. Office open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
§ Our Approach
How we work.
I
Litigation specialists
Commercial disputes are the whole of our practice, across the full range of Scottish commercial litigation. From contract and shareholder disputes to insolvency and professional negligence. This is all we do.
II
Reachable and clear
You deal with the solicitor running your case, not a call handler. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm on 0131 668 3000, and you are told what is happening on your file without having to chase it.
III
Commercial judgement
A dispute is a business problem before it is a legal one. We advise on what an action is likely to cost, how long it will take, and whether the sum in issue justifies pursuing it, so the decision is taken on the numbers.
IV
In court and at the table
Halliday Campbell WS conduct actions in the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session, and settle where that serves you better. You have weekday access to the solicitor on your file on 0131 668 3000 or 07548 109550.
§ Practice Areas
Our practice areas.
Commercial agreements and obligations
Disputes arising from contracts, supply and distribution arrangements, warranties and restrictive covenants, whether the question is what was agreed or whether it was performed.
Company and corporate disputes
Shareholder and partnership disputes, unfair prejudice petitions, directors’ duties, and disputes arising from the sale and purchase of a business.
Intellectual property and technology
Trade mark and passing off actions, copyright and database rights, confidential information, and disputes over software, data and IT contracts.
Property and land
Commercial lease disputes, dilapidations, rent arrears and irritancy, boundary and title questions, servitudes and disputed development obligations.
Insolvency
Advice for creditors, directors and office holders on liquidation, administration and sequestration, and on challenges to transactions made before insolvency.
Debt and asset recovery
Recovery of commercial debt from first demand through to decree and diligence, with interim orders to protect assets while an action runs.
Professional negligence
Claims against solicitors, accountants, surveyors, architects and other professional advisers where negligent advice or work has caused financial loss.
Fees and funding
How we charge, what a commercial action is likely to cost, and what you are liable for in outlays and in the other side’s expenses if an action fails.
§ Reviews
What clients say.
Placeholder review. This paragraph runs to about forty words on purpose, so the card stands at the height a real review would give it and the two columns can be judged for balance before any genuine client words go anywhere near the page.
Placeholder review, deliberately shorter than the first, so the grid can be checked where two cards of unequal length sit beside each other.
